[SMM Analysis: SMM Pr-Nd Oxide Transaction Sentiment Factor Launched to Capture Changes in Rare Earth Market Trends] The Pr-Nd oxide market has experienced significant fluctuations, and it is challenging to capture the factors influencing prices during transactions between buyers and sellers. To better serve the spot Pr-Nd oxide market, the SMM rare earth research team, after a period of data accumulation and internal model calculations, has developed the Pr-Nd oxide transaction sentiment factor. Starting from September 1, 2025, this factor will be updated at 12:00 PM every working day, providing the industry chain with a quantifiable, traceable, and early-warning reference for sentiment.

The Pr-Nd oxide market has experienced significant fluctuations, and the factors influencing prices during transactions between buyers and sellers are difficult to capture. To better serve the spot Pr-Nd oxide market, the SMM Rare Earth Research Team, after a period of data accumulation and internal model calculations, has developed a transaction sentiment factor for Pr-Nd oxide. Starting from September 1, 2025, this factor will be updated at 12:00 PM every working day, providing the industry chain with a quantifiable, traceable, and early-warning reference for sentiment.

I. Data Highlights

1. Divergence in procurement and sales sentiment, better assessing the ease or difficulty of buying and selling

Upstream transaction sentiment factor for Pr-Nd oxide: willingness to sell by separation enterprises, scrap recycling companies, and traders

Downstream transaction sentiment factor for Pr-Nd oxide: purchase willingness of metal enterprises and traders

Final transaction sentiment factor for Pr-Nd oxide: combining the respective weights of separation enterprises, scrap recycling companies, traders, and metal enterprises to determine the overall purchase willingness

2. Professional scoring, weighted by capacity/procurement volume

Every day, the analyst team engages in targeted communication with enterprises, scoring their willingness to sell/buy on a scale of 1-5 (1 = few inquiries, individual essential needs; 5 = panic buying, spot cargo instantly sold out). The scores are then weighted according to the enterprise's capacity/procurement volume, ensuring that the factor represents the mainstream of the industry.

3. Precise calculation, analyzing spot market trends

Through precise calculations, the SMM Rare Earth Research Team provides a quantifiable indicator of procurement and sales sentiment, enabling the market to review and forecast spot market trends.

 II. Application Scenarios

Separation Enterprises & Scrap Recycling Companies: Adjust the pace of shipments based on downstream purchasing sentiment, avoiding the risks of "high price, low transactions" or "low price, concentrated dumping."

Metal Enterprises & Traders: Identify upstream signals for shipment, lock in low-priced sources in advance or delay high-price purchases, optimizing inventory turnover days.

Data Source Statement: Except for publicly available information, all other data are processed by SMM based on publicly available information, market communication, and relying on SMM‘s internal database model. They are for reference only and do not constitute decision-making recommendations.
